Frequently asked questions

Are work in progress and client down payments reflected in Xero's financial data?

Yes. On a monthly basis, you will weight your work-in-progress based on Harvest uninvoiced report and we will book it into Xero. We also take into account the change in client down payments so that your financials are meaningful and accurate.

Does Xero work for Companies in Switzerland?

Yes. Xero can be adapted to Swiss standards. As a Xero Certified Partner we can help you setting up Xero for your Swiss entity.

How will accounts and tracking categories (cost centres) be synced?

If a Harvest invoice item matches a Xero item code with a default revenue account, the item will be booked to that Xero revenue account. This connection is managed in Xero at “Business > Products and services.”

Alternatively, if a Harvest invoice client aligns with a Xero contact with a default revenue account, the entire invoice transfers to that Xero revenue account. This is handled in Xero under “Contacts > All contacts.”

If no default revenue account is assigned to the client or invoice item types, Harvest’s Xero settings page’s revenue account will be the fallback.

If you’ve established tracking categories in Xero based on client selections in your Harvest for Xero settings, those categories will appear on invoice line items when migrating Harvest invoices to Xero.

Is there an additional cost for using the Harvest - Xero Integration?

No. The integration is a core part of Xero and Harvest and free of charge. No additional plugins are needed.

Will you help me with the migration?

Yes. We are not only a Xero Certified Partner, but also experienced in using Harvest. We’re glad to support you.
